Contrast controls the difference between the light and dark areas of an image. To adjust brightness and contrast, follow these steps: 1. In the Document window, select the image you want to alter. The Properties inspector shows the image properties. 2. From the Edit tools, click the Brightness and Contrast icon (a circle with light and dark halves). A dialog box appears, indicating that changes you make are made to the original file. 3. Click OK. The Brightness/Contrast dialog box appears. 4. Adjust the brightness and contrast settings of the image with the sliders.
